Fediverse why the adoption is so slow

My account was on a little instance. A kind of family. Someone did the administration work volontary. It was a good instance. I was there for years. I felt at home.  But  for few days it does not work. The first time I think maybe tomorrow It will be ok but after few days it is the same.

In theory the fediverse is wonderfull. It is like email but for social network.  It is not centralised. It does not belong to only one company. But it is weak. If one server is down the whole network still works but you loose your account. And you have to find a new instance. 

The solution : Hubzilla.  But the public instance are rare. If you want to be secure you have to clone your instance and to find 2 hubs. I tryed it.  I had 2 instances and they disappeared both. I could move but I didn't use them frequently enough

Second solution : self hosting. But you have to be good in technology. You have to know how to type code and commands. Self hosting is not for everybody.  Yunohost is not for everybody either. It can help you but sometimes you need to understand why things do not work. You need to read logs and find solution.

Other solution. Some hosting company offers fediverse app and that could be maybe the best solution. You have to pay. 

Fediverse is free you can join an instance but you have no garanty- The instance can stop at any time. If you pay an hosting company or know how to manage a server you are better but the price is your time your patience and your money. This is the price to freedom. 

My main account was kris@theres.life  Thank you for the admin and what he offer. Maybe soon he will manage to reinstall it. My hubzilla account are all dead. What shall I do for the future. That event push me for self hosting. Probably I will search a tool. Pleroma or gotosocial I don't know yet. Something for a very little server.

And I will continue the development of a personal fediverse tool. It is very challenging. I thing I am not the best developper but I will try.
